FHCM USERS Newsletter

january 2009

Welcome to the first FHCM Users Newsletter

Masterpiece Users Group has been established for over 25 years, looking after the interests of Users’ investment in the software. Successive take-overs by SSA Global and Infor have brought Masterpiece into the same fold as other Financial Software packages such as Sun Systems, System 21, Smartstream and Infinium. The opportunity to expand the User Group to look after the interests of the users of Infor’s Financial software has openly presented itself and the committee hope that the new Infor family will expand significantly.

The concept of an INDEPENDENT User Group is supported by Infor and approved third parties. At the London Inforum the Sun Systems Sales Director was at pains point out to Sun Users his support for the User Group and encouraged users to be actively involved. Masterpiece has always received support and the combining of the strands into FHCM USERS Ltd (wish the name could be better) has started to pay dividends.

Bob Spencer, our User Group administrator of many years, has over 12 years' experience of organising User Group matters.

We plan to re-introduce a regular quarterly Newsletter in which we would like to see:

  • contributions from Users and Infor
  • to address issues for each strand of Infor Financials
  • announce a Workshop in late Jan/ early Feb 09, to feature individual software / SIG issues and common items from Infor & third parties. Perhaps an evening get-together followed by a full day’s Workshop.
  • Contributions to the Newsletter are welcomed from all quarters.

We plan to have regular SIG's for the various types of users: Local Government, Housing Associations and Power Generators have already been mentioned, as well as NHS and Local Government.

We need Committee representation for each SIG so that cross-pollination can be given a head start.

If you would like to join our Committee please get in touch with Bob Spencer: rs@fhcm-users.com

We are sad to lose one of our long-stading Committee members, Phil Leeson and he has sent this farewell message:
